Peter Munson has served as the Rector of St. Ambrose since August, 2001. After graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1991, Peter served for a year as Curate at St. John Chrysostom Episcopal Church in Golden, Colorado and for nine years as Vicar and then Rector of St. Martha’s Episcopal Church in Westminster, Colorado. Fr. Peter was born in London, England in 1957 to an American family, and lived there until he was 4. He grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and Virginia Beach, Virginia, and came out to Colorado every summer with his family to camp, hike, and visit relatives. He moved to Colorado in 1975, graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Environmental Conservation (1979), and received his JD from CU Law School in 1982. After graduating from law school, Peter taught high school math from 1982-1985 as a Peace Corps Volunteer on the Eastern Caribbean island of Dominica. Peter has been married to his wife, Julia, since 1987. Julia is a psychotherapist who has had her own counseling practice since 1986. The Munsons have two children, Zachary (1991) and Hannah (1993). Peter is thrilled to be at St. Ambrose. It is a delightful congregation!  |
